The enchanting beauty of the tea gardens is sure to leave you spellbound. Assam is famous for it's silk sarees, mostly worn by the Bihu dancers which is a world famous dance. (Bihu is the national festival of Assam. The principal of the three Bihus, Bohag or Rongali Bihu ushers in the Assamese New Year, in the middle of April, and is celebrated with distinctive Bihu dances and songs) Culture & Art is an important part of an Assamese. Artist, sculptors, masons, architects, weavers, spinners, potters, goldsmiths, artisans of ivory, wood, bamboo, cane and hide flourished in Assam from ancient times. Every household possesses a handloom used to produce silk and (or) cotton clothes of exquisite designs. The Eri, Muga and Pat are the important silk products of Assam. There is also a wide range of furniture, handicrafts and decorative items made from bamboo and cane.
The orchid is Assam's most celebrated flower, the most famous being the Kopou Ful, a Vandaceous Orchid known by its botanical name of Rhynchostylis retusa. To the orchid enthusiast of the West it is also known as the Foxtail Orchid.
This orchid grows widely across Assam and is worn by young women on their hair during the spring festival of
Assam, Rongali Bihu and is symbolic of youth and renewal.

Guwahati the capital of Assam is Gateway to Assam and other northeastern states, the city has also got colorful ethnic cultures. The city offers various temples, a musuem, a river cruise on the Brahmaputra, Shankar Deva kala Khestra.
Among the other sightseeing places are Kamakhya Temple dedicated to Goddess Kali basically meant for the
worshippers of Shakti.The prominent shopping centers of the city are Fancy Bazaar, Paltan Bazaar and
Pan Bazaar. The world's largest tea auctions are held in the nearby city of Dispur, the offcial state capital
Kaziranga National Park, the habitat of  the one-horned Rhino.Experience the adventure of wild life as you roam
in the National Park on an elephant's back.The thick jungle with patches of swamp is heaven to a variety of animals.

DAY 01 ARRIVE KOLKATA
Arrive Kolkatta. On arrival, meeting, assistance and transfer to hotel. Afternoon half day city
sightseeing tour visiting the Victorial Memorial, Shaid Minar, drive accross Howrah Bridge, visit
Botanical gardens and the Indian Museum, before returning to your hotel for dinner and overnight
DAY 02 KOLKATTA > JORHAT > SIBSAGAR > JORHAT
After breakfast, transfer to airport to board flight to Jorhat. Jorhat is the main centre for the region,
with an airport and road connections and acts as the gateway to Kaziranga, Nagaland and northern
Arunachal Pradesh. Jorhat is famous for its sprawling tea gardens, it is the nerve center of tea industry.
Meet on arrival and transfer to hotel. After fresh & change proceed for day excursion to Sibsagar 55 kms
from Jorhat. Sibsagar was the capital of the Ahom Kings who ruled Assam before the advent of the British.
The town is build round the Sibsagar tank, dug over 200 years ago. The tank is above town level although
situated in the heart of the town. On its banks are located some of the famous temples of Sibsagar. The
Shiva temple, constructed in the year 1734 is believed to be the highest Hindu temple in India. Other
Interesting places you will visit are the Talatal Ghar, Kereng Ghar, Rang Ghar, Joysagar Tank and Temple,
Gaurisagar Group, Gargaon Palace and Charaideo. Return to Jorhat hotel for dinner and overnight
DAY 03 JORHAT > KAZIRANGA
After breakfast, transfer to Kaziranga National park,97 kms down the river. On arrival check
into Jungle Lodge. Afternoon enjoy game ride & jungle activities. Evening witness a Bihu tribal
dance (only for groups) with your dinner. Overnight at the jungle lodge
DAY 04 AT KAZIRANGA NATIONAL PARK
Kaziranga National Park lies on the south bank of the Brahmaputra and its boundary for the most
part follows the Mora Diphlu river and runs parallel to National Highway No. 37. It covers an area
of 688 sq. km. The Park was first established in 1908, as a reserve forest with only about a dozen
rhinos and was declared a National Park in 1974. Today take a full day Jungle Safari, which includes
elephant's ride where U will get the opportunity to photograph rhinos, endless varieties of exotic birds,
deers etc. An unforgettable day climaxed by a slide presentation followed by dinner at the jungle resort.
DAY 05 KAZURANGA > TEZPUR > BHALUKPUNG > POTASALI
Morning after breakfast, depart by surface for Tezpur - Situated on the banks of river Brahmaputra,
this town replete with a raw natural beauty and fascinating archaeological ruins, is the headquarters
of district Sonitpur. Undulating green valleys surrounded by the lofty hills and snow-capped peaks of
the Himalayas, and lush tea gardens render. Tezpur is a tourist's delight. a beautiful and historical
town of Assam, about 200 kms northeast of Guwahati. One also sees many tea gardens along the way.
Proceed to Bhalukpung - one hour journey from Tezpur. Night halt at Eco Camp (tented accommodation)
at Potasali on the banks of the sparkling Jiya Bhoroli. Bonfire & dinner. Overnight.
DAY 06 BHALUKPUNG > NAMERI > ORANG 
Morning after breakfast, depart by surface to Orang National Park visiting Enrout the Nameri National
park, famous for the white-winged wood duck, wild elephants, tigers etc  Take a elephant ride, before
contunuing your onward journey to Orang Wildlife sanctuary located at the feet of Bomdila. Covered by
sal, segun, shimul & eucalyptus trees, it covers an area of 72 kms and abounds in wild life like one
horned rhino, elephant,leopards, sambar, deers etc. Later on arrival check into Tourist Bunglow.
Evening at leisure. Dinner & overnight in Tourist Bunglow
DAY 07 ORANG > MANAS
Morning after breakfast depart by surface for Manas Formerly known as North Kamrup, Manas, was
declared a sanctuary in 1928. In 1985 it was accorded the status of World Heritage Site. The park
straddles 2 rivers the Manas and its tributary the Hakua, along the Assam-Bhutan border. The protected
area extends into the Bhutan foothills. On arrival check into Lodge/Camp. Afternoon enjoy game drive
and boatride on the Manas river to view wildlife. Return to Camp/Lodge for dinner & Overnight.
DAY 08 AT MANAS NATIONAL PARK
Morning after breakfast full day jungle activities. Enjoy a game drive and a Elephant ride thru this lush
foliage. Look out for the elusive tiger, catch on camera, whatever you can get your eyes to see.
Return to camp. After lunch take a jeep safari. Evening bonfire with dinner & overnight in Lodge/ Camp
DAY 09 MANAS > GUWAHATI
Morning after breakfast, depart by suface for Guwahati - situated on the bank of a immpressively wide
&muddy Brahamputra River, it is Assam's sleepy capital - said to be the legendary Pragjyotishpur or
City of Eastern Light - it is also the gateway to north eastern India and the commercial nerve centre of
North East. On arrival check into hotel. Afternoon enjoy A two-hour river cruise on the Brahmaputra.
Snacks will be served on board. Disembark on the south bank of the river and proceed to Sankardev
Kalakshetra, a place named after a great Assamese reformer and cultural genius, to get a glimpse of
Assamese culture and the multi-hued folk traditions of the north-east. Dinner & Overnight.
DAY 10 GUWAHATI > HAJO > SUALKUCHI > MADAN KAMDEV > GUWAHATI
Morning after breakfast, depart for Full day excursion to Hajo - 25 km west of Guwahati, is the site of
the Pua-Mecca Mosque, established by an Iraqi prince-turned-preacher, who travelled all the way to
Assam in the 12th century to spread the Prophet's teachings. Hajo is a sacred place for Hindus, Muslims
and Buddhists. Also visit the Hayagriba Madhava Temple, accessible via a long stone stairway. At the foot
of the stairway is a large pond inhabited by one of Hajo's eminent residents: a giant turtle. Hajo is
also renowned for its bell metal work. Afternoon visit Sualkuchi famous for its silk-weaving
centre best known for muga silk which is naturally golden-coloured, not dyed. Endi and pat silks
are also woven here. You end your sightseeing tour with a visit to the ancient ruins of the Madan
Kamdev Temple about 30 kms away from Guwahati. Return to Guwhati hotel for Dinner & overnight
DAY 11 GUWAHATI > SHILLONG
Morning after breakfast, enjoy sightseeing tour of the city. Visit The Kamakhya temple, on Nilachal
hill on the south bank of Bramhmaputra river- considered as one of the most sacred place in India.
Next visit The Navagraha Temple - temple of nine planets, which are dedicated to Surya, Chandrama,
Mangal, Budh, Brihashpati, Shukra, Sani, Rahu and Ketu, situated to the east on the top of Chitrasal hill,
followed by a visit to The Ugratara Temple - smallest river island in the world, and situated in the
middle of the Brahmaputra river. Umananda is also referred as peacock island and is the seat of a
Siva temple. Last leg of our sightseeing visit takes you to the Assam State Museum - This archaeological,
ethnographic and natural history museum housing displays of weavings, musical instruments and a large
sculpture gallery. Afternoon, depart by surface for Shillong the capital of the adjoining state of Meghalaya,
a hill-station located about 100 kms away from Guwahati and called the Scotland of the East for its
climate and its scenic beauty. On arrival check into hotel. Evening free. Dinner & Overnight in hotel.
DAY 12 SHILLONG > CHERAPUNJEE
Morning after breakfast, proceed by surface to Cherapunjee - the wettest place on the earth. On
arrival check into Holiday resort. Afternoon explore nature with a trek in the Khasi hills etc.
Dinner and Overnight stay at the Cherapunjee Holiday Resorts.
DAY 13 CHERAPUNJEE > SHILLONG 
Morning after breakfast, depart by surface for Shillong. Enroute visiting the limestone caves.
On arrival check into hotel. Afternoon proceed for sightseeing tour visiting the Ward Lake, Upper
Shillong, Shillong Peak, Elephant Falls and Lady Hydari Park. Return to hotel for Dinner & Overnight
DAY 14 SHILLONG > KOLKATA
Morning after a leisurly breakfast, transfer to airport to connect flight to Kolkata. On arrival
transfer to hotel. Afternoon free for personal activities (Car/coach at Disposal) Dinner & Overnight
DAY 15 DEPART KOLKATA
