Cost for
one night accommodation on these boats starts from 75 $ to 250 per night
per person in Double room.
Prices
depending largely on which deck you have chosen to stay on. Staying in
the lower deck area, is generally
less
expensive than the upper deck. We advice you to obtain a plan of the boat
before you book. Avoid engine notice
and fumes.
Any good cruise boat will be keeping the cabins which are closer to the
engine dedicated to the staff
on board,
so that the guests do not hear the engine noise. The cabins are air-conditioner
and come equiped
with
a Television set. In Egypt there are more than 300 Nile cruise, ranging
from standard 4 star
to deluxe
5 star and ending up with Imperial Deluxe Nile Cruises
There
are numerous cruise steamers on the Nile, and the majority operate to a
very high standard of service.
According
to the particular vessel used they carry from between 50 to 100 passengers,
with the facilities
varying
according to size of the individual vessel. Traditional felluccas may also
be chartered.
Around
the middle of April, locks on the Nile river are closed due to water levels,
hence the best time for a
Nile
cruise is between October and mid April, when the weather is fairly cool,
and the Esna lock is open.
though,
most cruise boat companies operate all year around. If the locks are closed,
cruise operators
arrange
boats on either side of the locks, and a transfer is made between the liner
and the boats.
We offer
Nile cruises, operating both from Luxor to Aswan or vice versa. Some trips
include an extension to
Abydos
and Denderha. The Luxor/Aswan cruise lasts four nights/five days;
the cruise which includes Abydos &
Denderha

long tours on special departure
dates

NightLife Every
day there is an entertainment program, these programs vary from one boat
to the other.
In most
of the cruise trips that we conduct, usually the first day is a cocktail
party run by the boat where they offer free
drinks
and introduce the stuff on board. This party also called Manager’s party
where he introduces his crew to the guests
on board;
don’t forget to wear formal clothing for this party. Another night
there is a Galabia party , where you will be
encouraged
to get Egyptian out fit and wear the local Galabia, during such party some
entertainment games are conducted
and the
tour guides on board will be running the party. It is great fun!!
To buy a Glalabia it will cost you around 50 LE,
but if
you do not wish to buy one, you can hire one from the bazaar shop located
on board your cruise liner. You can
buy a
Galabia at the local bazaars outside the temples that you will be visiting
during your cruise journey. Don’t forget to
haggle
hard! Another night will be a Nubian show, where you will see Nubian dancers
and singers in their local outfit.
The last
evening entertainment is a belly dancing show, a jugglers show and local
singers and local band.
Clothing During
the day time while taking the tour, wear what ever you really like, but
due to the exposure to the
extreme
heat it is recommended you wear light cloth such as t-shirts and shorts.
You can attend breakfast
and lunch
wearing such clothes. But for dinner it is formal and informal clothing
is not be entertained.
Extras All
extras such as drinks bills, laundry, bills, telephones bills, will be
settled at the last day of the cruise at
check
out time. Payment can be made with credit cards, travelers check, or cash.
Most cruise boats don’t accept
personal
checks! Make sure you have carry enough cash, just incase your credit card
network does not work in the ship
Tipping Don’t
forget to leave tips for the cruise staff, minimum 10$ PER DAY CRUISE PER
PERSON! Note that this
amount
doest not include your tour guide tip, it is separate and it is entirely
up to you to settle the amount of tipping
you will
give to your tour guide. Upon check in the cruise boat, it is advisable
to leave your valuables in safe deposit
box that
is available at the reception or a private safe into your cabin. If you
wish to buy any items from the shops on
board
the cruise, though limited due to the small sizes of these shop, but expensive.
While on the other hand you
will
get enough time to check what you get and haggle the price!
Telecommunication
If
you wish you to call home, most of the cruise boats offer telephone facilities
on board.
It is
expensive though the reception quality is not as good as you will find
offshore.
Medical If
you get sick while on board, some cruise boats have a resident doctor
on board,
if not
they have doctors assigned in each town where they can call in a case of
emergency.
Currency We
recommend you visiting a bank to change your money before cruising, as
most of the cruise boats
do not
have money changing facilities and even if they have one, the exchange
rates are peanuts compared to
the official
exchange rates. You will not get access to banks during the cruise journey.
However, if you are
on the
3 or 4 nights cruise starting either from Luxor or Aswan, there are plenty
of banks and ATM
machines
at both the cities where you can get your money exchanged
