Harsil
The Bhagirathi valley is most enchanting and preserves many colorful spots in its lap. Situated at a distance of
72 kms from Uttrakashi on the main highway to Gangotri and at an elevation of 2623 metres, it is sylvan
hamlet is famous for its natural beauty and delicious apples. Harsil Retreat  is located about 20 kms
before Gangotri and is situated at Dharali village, at an altitude of 9000 fts. and nestling quietly
amidst a symphony of wild flowers, emerald grass and winding mountain paths, Harsil is famous for its crisp,
succulant apples and Rajma beans, as also for the now rare Bhojpatra Trees. For the inveterate adventure
this camp offers White - Water Rafting to get the adrenalin really going. The Bahagirathi Valley also offers
excursions and treks to Tapovan, Nandavan, Bhojbasa, Sat Tal and Chirbasa that will introduce you
to the plethora of Flora and Fauna found in abundance among the medows and valley of the region

Closest domestic airport is Dehradun's Jolly Grant and flights are presently operational 3 days a week ie. 
Monday, Tuesday &  Friday, departing Delhi at 1300 hrs & arrives Dehradun at 1400 hrs. Onwards by 
surface from Dehradun to Harsil ( 244 Kms) takes 6 hrs

covers Meerut, Muzzafarnagar, Roorkee, Haridwar and Rishikesh, Uttarkashi and onwards to Harsil

There are 3 excellent train services for Dehradun/ Haridwar. Shatabdi & Jan Shatabdi Express from New Delhi station and Mussorie Express from Old Delhi. Haridwar/ Dehradun to Harsil by road takes 6/ 7 hrs respectively
SAT TAL Sat Tal,  meaning the seven lakes are situated just above Dharali, beyond Harsil. The 7- km trek is rewarding, as this group of lakes is situated amidst beautiful natural surroundings. 
GANGOTRI (24 kms.) The shrine of Gangotri situated at an elevation of 3200 metres above sea level amidst captivating surroundings is 100 kms. from Uttarkashi. The temple, constructed by the Gorkha General, Amar Singh Thapa in 
the 18th century, is situated on the bank of Bhagirathi.
