Sangla Valley
Baspa Camps Access to Sangla valley has always been elusive. Hundreds of years ago, the heroes of the epic Mahabharata hid here during the last year of their exile. Much later the valley was closed for strategic reasons.
The Indo-Tibet border is only 20 kms away. Sangla valley has a timeless heritage : Polyandry, Hinduism, Buddhism, Oracles & the Bhojpatra - a rare tree bark finer than the finest of papers. Ancient Indian scriptures were written on them. At the Baspa banks you can be in a hammock in the neighboring woods. The aroma, the humming wind &
the fallen leaves which crackle beneath the feet are an experience which you will always cherish. As is the siesta
by the brook called Baspa. It boasts of the best trout in India. Besides the hospitality, you will love the hot
baths, alfresco breakfasts, bar-be-cue, and the recreational facilities. And should you lose a game of
croquet, m'sieur, you can put our boomerang to fitting use.

	Closest domestic airport is Jubbarhatti airport is 23- km from Shimla and major domestic airlines cater their services from here to Shimla . One can catch direct flights from Delhi .. Onwards by surface to Sangla ( 240 Kms) takes 8 hrs
	The distance from Delhi to Sangla is approximately 650 kms along the national highway. Route covers Ambala, Kalka, Shimla, Narkhanda, Rampur Busair, Wangto, Karcham and onwards to Sangla Valley
	Nearest railhead is Kalka. onwards by road 273 Kms to Camp Site. Kalka is connected to major cities like Howrah, Mumbai, Delhi & Lucknow by rail.

CHITKUL VILLAGE	Chitkul is the last and highest inhaited village in Sangla Valley just 26 km from Sangla at the height of 3450 meters on the bank of river of Baspa is notrd for its alpine meadows and snow capped mountains.It has a rest house.
RECONG PEO	Known also as Peo is 260 km from Shimla and 7 km from Powari. Recong Peo is the Headquarters of the district located at the altitude of 2670 meters. It has a fine view of Kinner Kailash.
KALPA	The main village of the district 14km from Powari connected by link road and 84 km from Rampur situated at the height of 2759 meters.The spectacular view of Kinner Kailash ranges can be seen from here. They are a spetacular sight early in the morning, as the rising sun touches the snowy peaks with crimson and gold light.
MOORANG	26 km from Powari. This village is well known for the orchards of apricot. Moorang is situated at an altitude of 2276 meters. The village is encircled by high mountains on three side except west side. There is an ancient fort in the Moorang which is believed to have been built by Pandavas.
RAMPUR	was once the capital of the princely state of Bushair and major centre on the old trade route of the Tibet. Located on the bank of river satluj which starts from Mansarover in tibet and crosses the indian border at the shipki pass. West of the town there are the wide terrraces of the satluj upto tattapani where the hot spring are situated. The annual Lavi fair held in second week of November is still an very important event for the people of the region
