 GANGOTRI - NANDANVAN - TAPOVAN

This trek combines the experience of mountain climbing, rock climbing, boulder hopping & glacier traversing.
It passes through orchards of coniferrous pine trees at Chirbasa and birch at Bhojwasa. From Gaumukh to Nandanvan, one traverses along the gangotri & Chaturangi glaciers. From Nandanvan view the Shivling,
Bhagirathi, Sudarshan, Thelu & Kedardome. Cross the Gangotri glacier and rocky face before arriving at the
green medeows of Tapovan, surrounded by many named and unnamed peaks of the Garhwal Himalayas.

DAY 01 ARRIVE DELHI 
On arrival you will be met by our representative and transfered to Hotel Qutab or similar. Afternoon half day
city tour of Old & New Delhi. Drive past Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Parliament house & Presidents Palace, visit
India Gate, Qutab Minar & a Modern Hindu temple. Evening free. Overnight in Hotel
DAY 02 DELHI > HARIDWAR> UTTARKASHI
Early morning transfer to railway station to board superfast express train to Haridwar. Breakfast on board.
Arrive Haridwar at1130 hrs and transfer to waiting car for your onward trip to Uttarkashi (1885m) The road climbs
up steadily to Srinagar and then onwards steeply. Enroute stop for lunch. Later on arrival, check into hotel. Evening
free to stroll around this small quient town, situated on the banks of the Ganges. Uttarkashi is the base of many
trekking and mountaineering activities. Dinner & overnight in hotel
DAY 03 UTTARKASHI > HARSIL
  Morning after leisurly breakfast, drive down 3hrs to Harsil (2623m), a beautiful sylvan hamlet,with its winding shady
roads, swinging conifers, sun kissed mountains and scintillating Bhagirathi slowly flowing by, is an ideal place to halt for
acclimatization for the journey ahead. Set up camp. Visit the local tibetian village. Dinner & overnight in tents.
DAY 04 HARSIL > GANGOTRI
  Morning after breakfast, drive to Gangotri (3048m) - The place where mythological beliefs say Ganga came down
from Heaven and flowed down the valley. Enroute visit Ganganani hot springs.The Gorge at Bhairav Ghati & the
Temple of Goddess Gangotri is worth a visit. On arrival check into hotel. Dinner & Overnight
DAY 05 GANGOTRI > CHIRBASA > BHOJWASA 
  Morning after breakfast, start trek to Bhojwasa (3792m) Starting with an easy climb the route is filled withbreathtaking
sights as the magnificent scenery unfolds itself at every step. Stop for lunch at Chirbasa (3600m), clothed in the greenery
of pines with stunning glimpses of the giagantic Gaumukh glacier, before reaching our camping site. From here one
can see the mejestic view of Bhagirathi peaks. On arrival pitch tents. Dinner & Overnight in tents
DAY 06 BHOJWASA > GAUMUKH
  Morning after breakfast, a short 2 hours trek brings us face to face with the Gaumukh Glacier (4225m) - a big mass
of ice melting down to create the legend of a river - The Ganga or Ganges. Set in the heart of the Bhagirathi peak
the glistening glacier varies  from shades of blue, green to white. Starting from beyond the Chaukhamba cluster of
snow peaks, in the neighbourhood of Badrinath, the glacier extends to Gaumukh (3892m). Set up camp, at the base
of the glacier. Balance day free to relax. Dinner & Overnight in tents.
DAY 07 GAUMUKH > NANADANVAN
  Morning after breakfast start 8 kms trek to Nandanvan (4600 M). Traverse along the Gangotri & Chaturangi glaciers.
This trek combines the experience of mountain & rock climbing besides boulder hopping and glacier traversing.
On arrival, pitch tents at the junction of the two glaciers. From here view the Shivling, Bhagirathi, Sudarshan,
Thelu peaks and Kedardome. Dinner & overnight in tents.
DAY 08 NANDANVAN > TAPOVAN
  Morning after breakfast start trek to Tapovan (4500 M). Cross the Gangotri glacier, and the rocky face - an ascend
of 300m verticle wall, before arriving in this vast plateau of lush green medows, from where rises the Shivling Peak (6543m)
flanked by Meeru (6630m) and Kedar Dome (6808m). Tapovan is surrounded by many named and unnamed peaks
of the Garwal Himalayas. The peaks of Bhagirathi & Sudershan form the other side of the glacier. Suddenly all tiredness is forgotten
as you walk on this vast spread of golden grass. A rivulet almost frozen, treds it's way through the middle of the plateau.
Set up camp. Balance  Day free to wonder & marvel at what is really nature all about. Dinner & overnight stay in tents.
DAY 09 AT TAPOVAN 
  Morning after breakfast, day free. Lunch, dinner & Overnight in Tents
DAY 10 TAPOVAN > CHIRBASA 
  Morning after breakfast, start return trek to Chirbasa. Reach Chirbasa by afternoon. Set up Camp amongst
the pines trees,next to the riverside close to the imposing pillars of glacial clay. After Lunch day free.
Dinner & overnight in tents.
DAY 11 CHIRBASA > GANGOTRI > UTTARKASHI
  Morning after breakfast, start trek to Gangotri - 4 hrs from where you will be transfered by car to Uttarkashi.
Arrive Uttarkashi by late afternoon and check into hotel. Balance day free. Overnight in hotel.
DAY 12 UTTARKASHI > RISHIKESH > HARIDWAR > DELHI DEPARTURE
Morning after a leisurly breakfast, depart by car for Haridwar. Enroute visit Rishikesh. On arrival transfer to railway
stataion to board superfast train to Delhi. Dinner on board. Later on arrival at 2200 hrs, meeting & assistance &
transfer to International airport to take connecting flight onwards.
